The Integration Consortium's SOA Integration Showcase Names Above All Software The Premier Solution Provider Of 2006

Winning Solution Highlights the Benefits of Using Composite Applications to Solve Real-time Business Challenges

Redwood Shores, CA, June 1, 2025 —Above All® Software, a provider of award-winning business integration software, today announced that it was recognized by the Integration Consortium (IC) as the Premier Solution Provider of 2006™ and a winning recipient of the Integration Solution Provider Award for Excellence at the 2006 Global Integration Summit in Boston, MA May 22-24. The honor recognizes Above All’s superior achievement in solving a complex integration business problem faced by a fictional retail bank by using key Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles. Other participants in the event included BEA, Cape Clear, iWay, Magic Software, Rogue Wave Software, SoftwareAG, StoneBond, and WebMethods.

The SOA Integration Showcase, held during the Global Integration Summit, challenged participating vendors to develop within a 30-hour period a complete solution using Web services to solve a critical business issue faced by Anybank, a retail bank that requires flexible and adaptive IT solutions to support its mortgage approval process.

“The SOA Integration Showcase challenge provided the ideal opportunity to highlight how different integration techniques can solve real-world business issues faced by enterprises every day,” said Jon Temple, President and CEO, Above All Software. “Our success in this event underscores the importance and relevance of composite applications as a rapid, yet flexible integration approach to solving customer pains. It is gratifying to be recognized by industry experts and our peers for our technology leadership and for the strength of our methodology, especially against such stiff competition.”

Above All differentiated itself through its unique mine-refine-assemble-deploy approach that enabled it to quickly assess the existing information assets and refine them into common business services, troubleshoot and resolve a business process change that was intentionally inserted into the process by the Integration Consortium, then rapidly assemble a robust composite application to resolve Anybank’s integration problem.

The solutions were voted on by a panel of judges as well as by the registered conference attendees. The judges included Tommy Peterson, Computerworld Technology Editor; John Schmidt, Integration Consortium Chairman; Brenda Michelson, an analyst with Patricia Seybold Group; Jim Adamczyk, Partner with Accenture; Dennis Attinger, EAI Architect for Philips International, and Ralph Tufano, an executive consultant with business and IT consulting firm CGI-AMS.

“All nine participants in the Solution Showcase did a tremendous job and completed the challenge to build, and demonstrate, a mortgage application processing solution in one day,” said John Schmidt, Chairman of the Integration Consortium. “The top participants differentiated themselves and gained extra points for demonstrating additional business benefits, scalability in a range of IT environments, and how anyone can have the same success in their own organization by following the supplier’s repeatable methodology. It was a head-to-head finish, but the winner, Above All Software, gave the most convincing demonstration.”

The Above All Composite Application Platform leverages growing investments in Web services and service-oriented architecture (SOA) to enable just-in-time assembly of composite applications – integrated solutions that pull together business functionality and information from multiple disparate sources. Above All resolves the semantic differences between legacy, custom and packaged applications, and helps companies avoid the issues of redundancy and fragmentation that occur across these systems.
