Welcome to our October-November
newsletter — to help you keep up with the rapidly evolving integration
market.
Hi, I'm Roger
Sippl, chairman and co-founder of Above
All.
Whether it's from Marc Benioff, CEO of salesforce.com or Business
Week, the enterprise mashup is getting big play as the way to
leverage Web 2.0 technologies for rapid integration. Read a recent
Business Week article to learn how several companies, including an Above
All customer, are using enterprise mashups today to meet their
integration needs.
Speaking of Mr. Benioff, salesforce.com's yearly user conference
Dreamforce was a huge hit. I’m pleased to report that Above All won the
prestigious Appy Award. Hear about the “musical mashups” showcased by
Above All at Dreamforce. Find out how to get your own complimentary
mashup CD.
In Business Week:
When Companies Do the Mash
I was recently interviewed for the
Business
Week article on the subject of mashups. They
describe a software mashup as a “combination of disparate software or
Web-based applications, often from completely different
sources…Companies see enterprise mashups, also known as composite
applications, as a faster, cheaper way to create customized
applications.”
One of the examples mentioned in the Business Week article is
enterprise-security vendor PGP Corp., an Above All customer. They
created a master customer data process designed to cleanse the data over
time. “Above All helped PGP mash up existing customer records with
standardized company information from Dun & Bradstreet. Now, when
salespeople add new accounts, the mashed-up application automatically
fills the screen with relevant company information culled from Dun &
Bradstreet, saving data-entry time. 'The effect was that we got cleaner
data,' says David Burnett, director of informatics at PGP.”

Appy Award - Above All Selected for the
“Best Winter '07 Developer” Prize
The award was presented to Above All on Tuesday, October 10 in front
of the general audience of 4,000 at salesforce.com’s annual conference.
“The Appys represent the best that the Business Web has to offer. Above
All demonstrated an innovative example of how the new features in
Salesforce Winter ‘07 can be extended to automate a complex, cross
departmental business process,” said Adam Gross, vice president,
developer marketing, salesforce.com.
Above All was selected for its Credit Verification and Compliance
solution, built on top of the Salesforce Winter ’07 preview release. The
solution enables sales and finance personnel to accurately evaluate
customers’ credit worthiness and proactively avoid compliance issues
caused by attempting to book orders taken for customers who are not
credit-worthy. Read

Above All's Mashup Party is a Smash
The concept of mashups originated on the music scene, where music and
vocals from two or more songs are combined and re-mixed, creating a new
music genre. Carrying on with the mashup theme, Above All and
salesforce.com co-sponsored the “Bootie Mashup Party” at the DNA Lounge
in San Francisco. Dreamforce attendees were treated to the sounds of
mashup DJs Adrian and the Mysterious D.
Listen to a mashup song now: You Believe Me All Night Long -
Cher
vs. AC/DC.

CD.
Stay tuned for more
about mashups, and their role in bringing together information from
anywhere to enhance business processes.
Best wishes for a wonderful holiday season from everyone at Above All
Software.
Sincerely,
Roger Sippl
