Builder is the tool where end-users, developers and
business analysts catalog existing software resources and define new
composite applications.
Automated Cataloging of Resources. Builder automatically generates baseline models by
decomposing information resources into their basic elements – data
objects and operations – and catalogs them in the Application
Dictionary. At this point, the resources are available for assembling
into composite applications using wizards and point-and-click visual
tools.
Wizard-driven Application Assembly. Wizard-driven tools allow for the rapid assembly of
applications. Users find items of interest in the Application
Dictionary, and Builder automatically creates baseline user interfaces
using specified style sheets appropriate for the task.
Using join and merge capabilities, Builder relates
multiple disparate systems to create a complete business solution. If
needed, the user interface can then be tailored with a familiar palette
of form designer tools. For particularly advanced needs, users can
employ Builder’s scripting capability.
Flexible Deployment Options. The resulting new applications can be saved to the
Application Dictionary for either private or shared use. In addition to
being accessed in Runner and Builder, applications can also be deployed
to run in Internet Explorer.
