Designer is a tool where architects,
developers and business analysts define simplified models
that are used to facilitate the rapid assembly of composite
applications.
Visual Modeling Tools. With
easy-to-use visual modeling tools, users abstract, transform
and relate the baseline models generated by Builder into
higher level components that are easier to understand and
use for assembly of composite applications.
Hide Complexity. Modeling
simplifies the complexity of your information systems and
makes assembling solutions faster and easier. Simplified
models are more easily understood, hide complexity, are
ready for reuse and reduce redundancy.
Create Reusable Models. For
example, customers, their orders and the associated
products, the details of which may all reside in different
systems, can be related together and saved in the
Application Dictionary for reuse. The required logic that
relates customers, their orders and product details is only
defined once and can be used repeatedly. The wizard-driven
Builder leverages these pre-defined models so that business
users can find and use them to assemble composite
applications.
Align Your Systems to Business Needs.
Through the modeling process, the application logic provided
by your systems can be represented in ways that better map
to your business needs without requiring any changes to
those systems. Designer, together with the Application
Dictionary, lets you incrementally "model up" from what you
have to the representation that aligns your systems to your
current business needs.
