Hi, I'm Nick Baxter, Director of Product Management for Above All Software. I'd like to tell you about Above All's recent win of the Premier Solution Provider of 2006 Award, at the Global Integration Summit, in Boston.
We competed in a “bake off” against BEA, WebMethods, Cape Clear, Magic Software, SoftwareAG, iWay, StoneBond, and Rogue Wave Software. Each company presented their final solution to the Showcase Challenge judges and the conference attendees.
The Challenge: It was “on your mark… get set… go," with only 30 (yes, thirty!!) hours to solve a real-world problem—automating a manual mortgage process. It was a tremendous experience to compete on a level playing field where—regardless of company size or marketing budget—all that mattered was the solution.
The Results: Above All garnered the most votes from the 200+ attendees and the judges voted unanimously that we were the “most convincing” solution. We were judged the clear winner based on: accuracy, speed, applicability, usability, and unique features. But we think it was the multi-channel deployment we did for “extra credit” that wowed the voters and set us apart from the competition.
The People: Jay Murphy and I (Nick Baxter) locked ourselves in the “war room” and worked round-the-clock to solve this particular puzzle. And as the
Captain of the US Puzzle Team, I'm used to this type of competitive pressure. We finished our solution, our extra credit, and caught a few curve balls thrown at us, in less than the alloted time. Deborah Scharfetter, our VP of Products, also played a key role in overseeing the project and presenting our solution to the judges and attendees.
